Welcome to Direct Collabs ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register for an account, including:

  • Email address
  • Name and display name
  • Password (encrypted)
  • Profile information

2.2 Social Platform Data & Meta Integrations

When you connect your social media accounts (including through Facebook Login or the Instagram Graph API), we collect specific information to provide our services. For Meta platforms specifically, we may collect:

  • Profile Information: Your name, Meta User ID, and profile picture URL. We use this to create your profile and verify your identity.
  • Contact Information: Your email address. We use this for account communication and to link your social account to your Direct Collabs account.
  • Public Metrics: Follower counts, subscriber counts, and engagement metrics. We use this strictly to populate your rate cards and deal pipeline so you can accurately pitch your value to brands.
  • Authentication Tokens: OAuth tokens (securely encrypted). We use these to maintain your connected session and refresh your social metrics.

For other platforms (YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, Kick, etc.), we collect similar public profile data and metrics to facilitate your brand deal management. We do not use this data for any purpose other than providing the core Direct Collabs service.

2.3 Deal and Business Information

To provide our deal management services, we collect:

  • Brand deal details and values
  • Rate card information you set
  • Email communications sent through our platform
  • Contact information for brands you work with

2.4 Payment and Invoicing Information

To facilitate payments and invoicing through our platform, we collect:

  • Stripe account identifiers for subscription billing (customer IDs, subscription IDs)
  • Invoice details, including amounts, descriptions, due dates, and payment status
  • Payment instructions you choose to display on invoices (such as wire, ACH, or PayPal details)
  • Brand contact email addresses for invoice delivery
  • Subscription payment method information (processed and stored securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card numbers)
  • Invoice history and records you create within the Service

2.5 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use our service:

  • IP address and browser type
  • Device information
  • Pages visited and features used
  • Time and date of visits

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our service
  • Process your subscription payments
  • Facilitate invoice creation and delivery between creators and brands
  • Enable social platform integrations
  • Manage your brand deals and communications
  • Send you service-related notifications, including invoice status updates
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Improve our service and develop new features
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following situations:

4.1 Service Providers

  • Stripe: For subscription billing. Stripe receives payment card information directly and processes subscription payments on our behalf. Stripe is subject to their own privacy policy.
  • Supabase: For database and authentication services.
  • Email providers: For transactional emails, including invoice delivery.

4.2 Brand Contacts and Invoice Recipients

When you create and send invoices through our platform, we share invoice details (amounts, descriptions, due dates, your business information, and the payment instructions you configure) with the brand contacts you specify.

4.3 Social Platforms

When you connect social accounts, we exchange data with those platforms as necessary for OAuth authentication and to retrieve your public profile information.

4.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of users.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights:

  • Right to access: Request copies of your personal data.
  • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to restrict processing: Request limitation of how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability: Request transfer of your data to another service.
  • Right to object: Object to our processing of your personal data.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent to process your data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to:

  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce our agreements
  • Maintain financial records as required by applicable tax and accounting laws

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Invoice and payment transaction records may be retained for a longer period as required by financial regulations and tax laws, even after account deletion.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws different from your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this privacy policy.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this privacy policy periodically for any changes.

11. Data Deletion Instructions

If you wish to delete your account or remove your data (including data obtained from Meta platforms like Facebook and Instagram) from our servers, you can do so by following these steps:

Option 1: In-App Deletion

  1. Log into your Direct Collabs account.
  2. Navigate to your Account Settings.
  3. Scroll down and click the "Delete Account" button.
  4. Confirm your decision. This will immediately initiate the deletion of your personal data and social platform connections.

Option 2: Email Request

You can also request data deletion by emailing us at tanner@directcollabs.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Please include your account email address. We will process your request and delete your data within 7 business days.

Option 3: Removing Meta Connection via Facebook

If you wish to remove our app's access directly through your Facebook profile and trigger an automated data deletion request, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Facebook profile and navigate to Settings & Privacy > Settings.
  2. In the left-hand menu, scroll down to Security and Login and click on Apps and Websites.
  3. Find Direct Collabs in the list of active apps and click Remove.
  4. Follow the prompts to confirm the removal. This will automatically send a deletion request to our servers.
  5. You can check the status of your automated deletion request on our Data Deletion Status Page using the confirmation code provided by Meta.
